Daniel Baty

Founder

Dan Baty is founder of Columbia Pacific Management and co-founders of Columbia Pacific Advisors. Previously, Dan was the founder of Emeritus Corporation, one of the largest and most experienced operators of freestanding assisted living communities located throughout the United States, which merged with Brookdale Senior Living Inc. in 2014. He had served as Chairman of Emeritus since its inception in 1993. Dan also previously served as the Chairman of Holiday Retirement Corporation, the largest operator of retirement centers in the US and Canada, from 1987 to its sale in 2007 to Fortress Investment Group for more than $6 billion. Dan has been successfully investing in and developing private companies for over 40 years. Dan stepped away from day-to-day operational responsibilities at Columbia Pacific in May 2021.

Brandon Baty

President

Brandon Baty is President for Columbia Pacific Management, Inc. and was a founder of Columbia Pacific Advisors, LLC. He is in charge of the day-to-day management of business affairs for Columbia Pacific Management. Brandon served on the Board of Holiday Retirement and currently serves on the Board of Columbia Asia, one of our international healthcare affiliates that develops and manages state-of-the-art hospitals in India and SE Asia. Brandon also serves on the boards of Remote Medical International and Precept Wine. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of Washington.

Stan Baty

Vice President

Stan Baty is Vice President of Columbia Pacific Management, Inc. and a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Columbia Pacific Advisors. He is directly responsible for private investments both in the US and Asia. Previously, Stan was a financial analyst for Nomura Securities Corporation. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Emeritus Corporation from 2004 until its merger with Brookdale Senior Living, Inc. in 2014. Stan currently sits on the Boards of Seattle Bank, Dry Soda, Northwest Horticulture, Optimum Energy, Simply Fun, Winemakers Investment Properties, Seattle Academy of Arts & Sciences, and the Capitol Hill Housing Foundation. Stan graduated with a B.A. from the University of Washington.

Andy Baker

Chief Financial Officer

Andy Baker serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Columbia Pacific Management, Inc. where he manages all financial matters for the company and overseas financial concerns for our affiliates. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific, Andy was the Treasurer and Vice President of Tax at Trilogy International Partners, where he managed international tax and finance matters for Trilogy’s investments in wireless telecom companies in several countries. He began his career at Deloitte where he provided tax and accounting services to a variety of domestic and international companies, including some of the world’s largest private equity firms. Andy attended and taught at the University of Washington, where he earned a B.S. and M.S. in accounting. He serves on the board of Precept Wine.

Nate McLemore

Managing Director

Nate McLemore serves as Columbia Pacific Management, Inc.’s Managing Director for International Healthcare. He has over twenty years of healthcare experience in both early stage companies and large multinational corporations. Previously, Nate helped run Microsoft’s Health Solutions Group, where he managed a global sales and services team, including the company’s entry into China’s health IT market, and the division’s M&A activity, where he led several acquisitions and the formation of Caradigm, Microsoft’s joint venture with GE Healthcare. He serves on the boards of Remote Medical International and Columbia China. Nate earned a B.S. from Willamette University and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.

Maddie Metcalf

Senior International Accountant, Head of Investor Relations

Maddie Metcalf serves as a senior fund accountant and manages investor relations for Columbia Pacific Management, Inc.’s international healthcare strategies: Columbia Pacific China Healthcare, LP, Columbia Pacific International Senior Living, LP, and Columbia Africa Healthcare, LLC. Prior to that, Maddie served as the Office Manager for Columbia Pacific Management, where she provided administrative support while maintaining office operations and cash management. Maddie graduated from Washington State University with a B.A. in Marketing and  received a Certificate in Accounting from the University of Washington.

Matt Powell

Global Development Director

Matt Powell serves as the Global Development Director for Columbia Pacific Management, Inc.’s international healthcare division. Matt spent nearly 20 years living in Asia (Malaysia, India and Vietnam) overseeing the development of Columbia Asia and serving as the company’s CEO from 2008-2013 and a board member, prior to the sale of the Columbia Asia Southeast business to Hong Leong Group and TPG in 2020 and the sale of the Columbia Asia India business to Manipal in 2021. Previously, he served as a development manager for Emeritus Corporation. Matt is a graduate of the University of Washington.

Lew Thayer

Finance Manager

Lew Thayer serves in the finance group for Columbia Pacific Management’s international healthcare strategy, Columbia Africa Healthcare, LLC.  Prior to joining Columbia Pacific Management, he was a senior accountant at Deloitte within their audit practice and served a variety of clients including a large public company and multiple small to medium sized private companies. Lew graduated from the University of Washington where he received both his B.A. and M. A. degrees in Accounting.

Nick Timberlake

Finance Director

Nick serves in the finance and accounting group for Columbia Pacific Management’s international healthcare division. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific, Nick worked as an accountant within PricewaterhouseCooper’s audit and assurance practice. He was primarily focused on financial service clients, specifically asset management and private equity firms. Nick is a Certified Public Accountant with a B.A. and M.A. in Accounting from the University of Washington.

Brad Williams serves as Chief Financial Officer for Columbia Pacific Management, Inc.’s international healthcare strategies. Prior to joining the company, he was a manager at Deloitte where he served companies focused in the venture capital and private equity space, providing consulting services on a variety of federal and international tax issues. Brad serves on the board of Columbia China. He graduated from the University of Washington where he received both his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Accounting.
